The Chef

Authentic traditional cuisine in Caraglio

Ristorante Il Portichetto's chef pays particular care and attention to the preparation, on an almost weekly basis, of the menus offered to customers.
The selection of exclusive dishes is inspired by the seasonality of the products and the availability of local raw materials, all of the highest quality, for a
cuisine that honours tradition, without disdaining forays into modernity, reinterpretations or even daring experiments.
If you wish to rediscover the authentic flavours of the Piedmontese territory, book your table at our restaurant in Caraglio, which is open from Tuesday to Sunday.

The flavours of local products

Il Portichetto offers its customers quality and refinement in every dish, proposing, from appetiser to dessert, a cuisine linked to the Piedmontese food and wine tradition.

The restaurant particularly selects and enhances the most authentic character of local excellence, choosing renowned specialities such as Castelmagno cheese, the niche production of Agnus meat, a Scottish breed of cattle reared in the wild in the Grana Valley, or the black truffle of Montemale "Tuber Melanosporum Vitt". You can also taste ancient varieties of local fruit and vegetables, such as Madernassa pears and Martin sec, or Valgrana potatoes, which are still grown in the mostly organic and biodynamic crops of the area. Lastly, our organic flours are used to make the bread and pasta, which are made in-house by the chef. Don't miss the traditional Piedmontese cuisine, with the flavours and authenticity of local products.

The restaurant's dining room and wine cellar

Ristorante Il Portichetto's dining room seats approximately 60 guests and offers a cosy and elegant setting, ideal for celebrating events and private parties. The friendly and helpful dining room manager, Ivo, will accompany and advise you from the moment you book to the moment you stay.
Discover the specialities proposed by the restaurant both via its tasting menu, with the typical dishes of the traditional Piedmontese cuisine, and via its rich wine list.
The restaurant's extensive wine cellar boasts more than 250 labels, ranging from small local producers to those of the main national and international wineries.
Ristorante Il Portichetto preserves and still uses its ancient wine cellar, and only during the coldest periods does it transfer its wine reserves to a second cellar, at a controlled temperature, to ensure and preserve the specific organoleptic qualities of each label when it reaches the table.
